Abstract
The goal of doing this research is comparing the effectiveness of the mindfulness and Compassion-focused therapy on rumination and anxiety of graduate school entrance exam candidates in Tehran.

The current research is applied in nature and semi-experimental in terms of method. This research was conducted as a pre-test-post-test with a control group and for data analysis collected from the method-Descriptive and inferential statistics were used. The research population included all candidates for the post-graduate entrance exam in the academic year of 2021-2022 in Tehran. The studied sample included 45 people from the mentioned statistical population who were selected by the available method and randomly divided into three groups. Candidates were given two questionnaires (1- exam anxiety, Sarason in 1957 and 2- rumination, Nolen Hoeksma and Maro in 1991) mostly two online questionnaires. The present research was trying to compare the effectiveness of mindfulness training with compassion-based therapy in anxiety and rumination of entrance exam candidates and the results showed that no significant difference between the adjusted mean findings of the group of The Mindfulness training and group of therapy based on compassion in the post stage Test in anxiety variable, rumination and component was not observed. So the difference between the effectiveness of mindfulness and compassion-based therapy on anxiety and rumination in college entrance exam candidates is not significant.
