Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are transforming the educational landscape by enabling the personalization of learning experiences. This review article examines the role of these advanced technologies in educational systems, focusing on the associated challenges and opportunities. By analyzing scientific articles published over the past decade, this study explores practical applications of AI, including adaptive learning systems, generative AI, and chatbot tutors, and investigates their effectiveness in tailoring content to each student's unique pace and learning style. The findings reveal that AI can significantly increase educational outcomes and address diverse learner needs. Nevertheless, significant challenges persist, including algorithmic bias, ethical concerns regarding student data, and the need for transparency. This review emphasizes the necessity for strong regulatory frameworks and the responsible integration of AI into curriculum planning to fully realize its potential.
